Business Growth Strategies For Autumn

business growth strategies for autumnAre you ready for back-to-school or back-to-work season? Hard to
believe it’s September! So let’s talk about business growth strategies for autumn.

As you know, with September comes opportunity – lots of it. Everyone
is back in the office, and they’re working on making their customers
happy and grow their business. And those two things go hand in hand.

You need happy customers to be successful, and right now is the
perfect time to give some thought to how to make that happen:

1) Provide excellent service (and products)

Of course, your products and services have to be excellent. You can’t
afford glitches, like malfunctioning printers and running out of ink,
paper, or your invoice forms. So make sure you’re well-stocked.

You also need to let your team members focus on their priorities.
They’ll appreciate it if you don’t add needless busy work on top of what
they have to do to get their jobs done.

One of the things you can easily avoid is to have them call around
to find the best deals on office supplies. If you’re not sure where to
shop, I’d like to invite you to take us up on the Crane Challenge:

We’ll let you know if you’re getting the best prices or if we can beat
the prices of your “other” suppliers. Just call us on 0800 007 5566
or visit us here:

2) Business Growth Strategies for Autumn… thinking about Christmas…

Yes, really! Letting your customers and clients know how much
you appreciate them goes a long way towards building your long-term
relationship with them. You can do that by sending them personalised
cards and gifts for Christmas.

And what about sending the same to key prospects? It gives them a
preview on how you’ll treat them once they’re customers…

When it comes to business growth strategies for autumn, this is ideal.

Start by making a list of people to include, sorted by categories.
And then think about the kinds of cards or gifts you want. We’ll
have more information coming up in the next few weeks. In the
meantime, if you have questions, we’ll always be happy to help
on 0800 007 5566 (or on our Live Chat).

3) Consider adding a new “sideline” business

If you’ve been thinking about starting a new business or a sideline
business, you’ll find that right now is also the perfect time to get
started with a franchise.

Of course not any franchise. Now is not the best time to start an
ice cream shop. But when it comes to our Crane Franchise, the
perfect time is right now – or very soon – for the very reasons I mentioned

Here’s why:

a) Great time for extra sales

As I just said, the pre-Christmas season is coming up soon, and
business owners are looking for branded gifts and cards, plus other
seasonal offerings.

This means lots of extra sales right off the bat for you!

b) Quick start-up gets you ready in time

With Crane Franchise, you can get started very quickly and be ready for
business right on time to make the most of it.

c) Big savings on the franchise fee

Right now, as part of our special “back to work” promotion, you can
get your new franchise for a much lower investment than usual, and
with extra start-up support as well.

Just contact us at 0800 007 5566 and ask to speak to our franchise
sales team to find out more. After all, a new franchise could be the perfect part of your business growth strategies for autumn.

One more thing… What if YOU aren’t looking for a new franchise, but someone you know is thinking about it? We appreciate referrals and will reward you generously for putting us in touch with a successful candidate.

Summer Business Success Tips

summer business successAre you worried about the summer slowdown? Sure, Summer Business Success would be nice, but quite a few of your customers may be on holiday, and business may be slower than usual. But it doesn’t have to be.

There are many ways to actually take advantage of the different dynamics during the hot days. Let’s take a look at three of them.

1) Summer Business Success in spite of the “thinner” crowd

I’m sure there are people you might want to make contact with or stay in touch with to grow your network. Perhaps they are influencers who can put you in touch with many potential new clients. Or they are key prospects you want to turn into clients. During the rest of the year, they are often too busy to make the time. But during summer, they are likely to welcome a lunch invitation.

2) Find Summer Business Success By turning your clients and customers into VIPs

Yes, some of your clients and customers will be out of the office. But most of them will still be around. Now is a great time to let them know just how much you appreciate them – and establish a stronger bond with them.

With VIP days, special summer offers, and particularly special events, where they get to enjoy summery treats, you can draw them in. After all, they too will probably have a little more time than usual.

3) Participate in community events… or create your own

I believe that participating in community events can be an excellent business building activity. They are great opportunities to get in front of your potential prospects and clients. But what if your community doesn’t offer many (or even any) of these types of events?

Just create your own! You can either offer them all by yourself, or team up with fellow business owners and organisations, and create profit boosting events that can benefit you all – and give you lots of extra visibility in your community.

The key to summer business success is to plan early so you can get these items into the hands of your prospects and customers before they go away on holiday. Of course, they also make excellent give-aways and prizes for the community events I mentioned above.

As you can see, there’s a lot you can do to give your business a big boost during the supposedly slower time of the year. What are your favorite summer marketing activities? Please leave a comment below.

Fear And Successful Entrepreneurs

As you know, life as an entrepreneur involves risk in a variety of ways. This means that the ability to handle risks and associated fears lies at the heart of being successful as an entrepreneur…

1) They Get Fear Handled

deal with fearIt’s always tempting to say you must be fearless to be successful. However, that’s not exactly correct. Most sane people will feel fear in a lot of risky situations, as well they should. After all, fear can be a valuable tool, alerting us to danger and helping us as we navigate tricky situations.

On the other hand, it’s important to be able to function effectively despite the fear. Susan Jeffers wrote an excellent book, called “Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway.” I highly recommend that book to any aspiring entrepreneur. It captures the essence of how to handle fear perfectly.

2) They Make Plans And Take Action

Entrepreneurs are not afraid of planning, setting goals, and taking action. In fact, they need to plan to be successful – and those plans have to be acted upon to get things done.

3) They Understand Income vs. Cash Flow

Talk about handling fear. When it comes to dealing with money, a lot of people are tempted to chicken out. Successful entrepreneurs must be up to the task – and they also understand the difference between income and cash flow.

They are also prepared to deal with maintaining adequate cash flow to help their business thrive. Getting help and/or working with a proven winner will go a long way towards making that happen.

 4) They’re Willing And Able To Self-Promote

Shyness has no place in the life of a successful entrepreneur. If you want to be successful, you have to be able to stand out, let people know about what you have to offer, and promote yourself and your products and services. Here’s what can make it easier: Create something valuable you’re really proud of, something you’ll want to let the world know about.

And since self-promotion also involves speaking in public (another common fear!), I would highly recommend joining Toastmasters to get that handled – and to improve speaking and persuasion skills. It will also help with leadership skills, something else that’s needed as entrepreneurs run their companies.

5) They’re Not Afraid Of Change

Just read about Apple and Virgin and you’ll know that change is inevitable, and can be used to create ever greater success. So when things get tough, it’s important to keep in mind that change also means opportunity, and keep your focus on making the most of each and every opportunity that presents itself.

Winning Entrepreneurial Mindset

winning entrepreneurial mindsetIt’s summer, and as you probably enjoy a bit of breathing space, why not focus on building up your winning entrepreneurial mindset.

Maybe you’ve scheduled a vacation (and yes, you should definitely take one).

Or perhaps your business has slowed down because so many of your partners and customers are away for a break. Either way, summer is generally slower than the rest of the year, with the exception of Christmas season.

So why not use some of that extra time to think about what helps you make your business successful: The right mindset!

So today, I’m going to share three key features of a winning entrepreneurial mindset that can help you grow your business if you apply them.

What are the features of a Winning Entrepreneurial Mindset?

There are a range of features, but I picked out three that are probably the most important features of an entrepreneurial mindset. First, realize that you’re dealing with YOUR business. Next, focus on the positive, especially in terms of what you want to accomplish. And third, look at time like an entrepreneur! You’ll be surprised at the difference it will make.

1) It’s YOUR business

When you own a business, you’re the one who is ultimately responsible for its success. Sure, there are outside factors that can have an impact on your business’s bottom line, but you’re the one who must decide what to do about it. It’s YOUR business how your business is doing.

Don’t go about it in a guilt-tripping way, though. Approach it from a sense of empowerment. You’re in charge, and you make the decisions. And you get to take credit for a successful outcome.

2) Focus on the positive (i.e., your goals)

I need to qualify what I mean by focusing on the positive… Focusing on the positive doesn’t mean to ignore what’s not going so well. Instead, as you notice things you’d like to change, keep your focus on the desired outcome, not on your fears and worries. Focus on changing things for the better.

You know that saying about the glass being half full only too well. And that’s a good start. But don’t stop there. After all, there’s such a thing as a refill. Remember, if things aren’t going the way you want them to go, you can get a refill.

3) Entrepreneurial time

Time is different for entrepreneurs. When employees have clocked their time, they get to leave for the day. As an entrepreneur, you don’t have that option. You may even still be thinking about your business or pondering ideas when you should be fast asleep.

Now I don’t recommend that you let your business keep you up at night. It’s crucial to get enough sleep to keep your brain in top working order – and you’ll NEED it to be functioning at top capacity. Yet it’s important to realize that there’s often no clear division between time spent in (as well as on) your business, and time spent on other aspects of your life. The key is to work smarter, not harder… In short, be sure to nurture a winning entrepreneurial mindset.

Grow Your Business In Summer

grow your business in summerIt’s summer, at least officially. And while the weather may not always make it feel that way, it’s the season where we think of taking time off to go to the beach, the park, and all kinds of fun events. But not so fast! It’s also a great opportunity to grow your business in summer.

You may not associate summer time with marketing, but the truth is that any business needs to keep marketing year round, and summer offers some special opportunities that most people miss. So what are they? Let me share just a few:

1) It’s easier to grow your business in summer

It’s easier because… it’s less busy! This means that there’s less competition. While your competitors are enjoying the beach, you have a better chance to make contact with those busy VIPs you’d like to get to know better. Invite someone to lunch!

And while some networking meetings may take some time off or aren’t well attended, you now have a better chance to connect with those who do attend the meetings that still occur. So make sure to seek out the meetings you may not always have time for during the year, and be prepared to make some new connections.

2) Open air events

Summer is the season for Open Air events. Many of these are community events, and that’s perfect for increasing your visibility. Contact the organisers and ask how you might be able to help. They’ll ALWAYS need more sponsors! So be a sponsor. For a contribution in cash and possibly some goods and services, you could get a spot in their event publications, plus a table, depending on the type of event. That’s yet another great way to grow your business in summer.

3) Talk to people

Chances are you’re out and about a lot more than usual throughout the summer, and you never know who might be standing next to you. Talk to people. Be social and find out who they are and what they do. And always have cards and maybe a few small promotional gifts with you so you can share them with the appropriate people.

As you can see, you can easily grow your network while you’re out having fun. As long as you come prepared, and keep any business talk light, it can work very well. Just stay away from trying to sell. Instead, build the connection, ask questions, and find out as much as you can about the person you’re talking to. Then follow up and, yes, have lunch. And before you know it, you’ll have found another opportunity to grow your business in summer.

4) Make the most of slow-downs in your office

If things get kind of slow in the office during summer, there are lots of ways to make the most of it. When your crew isn’t as busy as usually, now’s the time to get caught up on things they don’t usually have time for.

If they’re in sales, they can start calling all their contacts to get caught up and maybe even invite them to lunch if they’re nearby.  And if they’re in other roles, they could declutter their email inboxes and the paperwork. Now’s the time to get rid of things that are no longer needed and shred them if they’re confidential or simply recycle them if they’re not.

I hope you’re enjoying your summer, and that my tips will help you make some valuable additional connections while you’re out having a good time. That’s one of the perks of summer – you get to enjoy the weather, the people you meet, fun events, and you could also expand your network.
